Question:

What are Primary and Secondary Messengers?

Answer:

Signaling molecules can be categorized into two distinct groups: Primary Messengers and Secondary Messengers.

Primary Messengers are molecules that bring messages or signals from the external environment and deliver them to the cell, serving as the initial messengers in cell communication.

In contrast, Secondary Messengers are molecules located inside the cell. They receive the messages initiated by the primary messengers and respond to them accordingly.
